Saiga Semi Automatic Rifle | price $470.00+/- |
|
The Saiga Semi-Automatic Rifles are a family of Russian semi-automatic rifles manufactured by Izhmash, who also manufacture the original AK-series assault rifles and SVD sniper rifles. The Saiga rifles are a sporter version of the AK-series rifles, and are marketed for hunting and civilian use. While the AK mags do not fit these models, a simple modification will allow you to use them. These are not old and used Russian AK's. They are built using new parts which makes for a much smoother, more accurate, and tighter fitting rifle. There is no shortage of aftermarket parts, accessories and cheap surplus ammo for these Saigas. They are available in several calibers. 5.45x39, 7.62x39, .223 and .308.

Mosin Nagant | price $119.00+/- |
|
The Mosin Nagant was Russia's standard issue rifle chambered in 7.62x54R. They began production in 1891 and over the years more than 37 million have been made. Because of the abundance of these rifles you can scoop them up for pretty cheap. They actually are very reliable, and pretty accurate for a rifle of its age. These rifles are a bit heavy and cetainly can take a bit of abuse. There a many variations, 91/30 being the most common. For a rifle with a good chambering, reliability, decent accuracy, and just plain fun to shoot, you can not beat the Mosin Nagant.
These rifles feature a 5 round top fed magazine. Most will come with bayonet, oil can, cleaning rod and sling. The Finn models or model 39 are among the better of the Nagant. There are a few different stocks also available if you should feel the need to "sporterize" your rifle to look more of a modern day sniper rifle. Many believe that these rifles should remain untouched because of their history and use in war, but lets be real here. There are 37 million of these, and they work wonderfull. Why not update and continue to use them. They are just to much fun to hang on the wall.
